Friends are the family we choose

Friends are the family we choose. Their support, their presence is pure air, a lifeline, a precious gift!

Who else do we want by our side as witnesses on such an important day as our wedding?

For their wedding, Antonio and Rosy asked me to write a poem that tells of their friendship with their witnesses. A poem they read during the reception before giving them a gift. They spoke to me about their special bond and how they perceive their friendship.

Our Friendship

Our friendship is an echo across the valley,
it reflects all the good we give each other.
It is the mysterious magic of giving and receiving more.
Our friendship is wisely chosen words,
it is the silences beyond which we recognize the voice,
it is the laughter that echoes and multiplies,
it is the songs sung at the top of our lungs,
the anxieties confided and comforted,
the carefree evenings.
It is saying “I’m here” and truly being there.
Our friendship is bonds without ropes or knots,
so that no one can find a way to untie them.
And just being in your company
makes you feel there is a special feeling.
We are united by Love.
